Veronica McCarrison recently competed at the annual singing competitions held by the 'Southland Competitions Society' in 2008. The society is affiliated with the Performing Arts Competitions Association of New Zealand Inc. (PACANZ). She was awarded seven first placings in different categories, winning the Senior Vocal Tests and the Senior Vocals categories amongst some other trophies and prizes.
