The Company

My client is a NZ owned company, privately owned with a majority shareholder who is also a well known NZ business with strong presence in the market. This business is based in Takanini and operates in the construction industry. The company has annual revenues circa $30M-$40M and employs over 100 people.

The Role

The role of Finance Manager is a member of the senior mgmt. team. You will report to the GM but also have a dotted line to the CFO at the parent company. The role is autonomous but you can get support from the CFO and the external chartered Accountant who does the year end statutory accounts and tax. Your responsibilities will include:

• Active member of the SLT
• Preparation of monthly management accounts and Board reports
• Preparation of the budget & monthly forecasts
• Manage cashflow
• Capex reporting and forecasting
• Staff management of 1 direct report
• Preparation and filing of IRD requirements
• Responsibility for company insurances and claims
• Liaison with external Accountants to complete statutory accounts
• Process improvement focus

Your Profile

To be considered for this role, we are looking for an experienced Finance Manager/Controller who enjoys working in mid sized private NZ businesses. You will need to be both hands on but have the ability to actively participate at the SLT level. Therefore your commercial acumen needs to stand out as does your strong IT skills. In this role you have the ability to take on more responsibilities across the business such as overseeing IT and attending Board meetings (finance related). You may have operated at this level previously or looking for that next step up in your career.
