The Fund seeks to provide equity-like returns over long timeframes with far less volatility than equities and no correlation to the NZ and Australian equity markets. We view this as an important alternative for a portion of investors’ portfolios in a world where most markets have reached unprecedented valuation levels due to historically low interest rates.

Given the Fund's broad mandate and wide range of investment tools available, its investment performance will depend, to a larger degree than traditional equity investment funds, on Salt's skill in selecting, combining and implementing investment decisions.
The Long Short Fund is currently generally only available for investment to existing investors in that Fund and new investors of selected financial advisory firms.
