This reputable and innovative national main contractor have consistently delivered projects on quality and time. They are predominantly focussed on projects in the $20M - $150M region and much of their work at present is negotiated from existing clients. Their projects span education, industrial, apartments, commercial and healthcare. They have an impressive staff retention record, they have an outstanding staff culture, a team that gels with clear and common goals articulated throughout the company.
In line with a strategic plan for growth, they are now looking for a highly skilled hands-on Construction Manager to oversee current projects. The role itself will be leading day to day activities with several project, senior site and site manager reports. You will be building the team capability.
There will be regular and ongoing contact with project team members, sub-contractors and other consultants. As well, you will be dealing with the client and being key in all PCG meetings. You will be proactively monitoring commercial and contractual issues and providing feedback. You will be ensuring projects costs are measured, monitored and agreed. There will also be a strong emphasis on OSH and compliance.
Key success factors for this role require:
* A trade qualification or tertiary qualification in construction management, quantity surveying or engineering.
* 10 + years’ experience in managing a mix of medium to large complex projects with NZ experience essential
* Strong networks
* Sound knowledge of relevant commercial construction legislation
* Ability to lead and performance manage construction teams to achieve agreed outcomes
* Solid programming skills and contract management skills
* Strong financial management with ability to drive cost accountability
* Outstanding relationship building strengths with consultants and the client
Remuneration: $200K - $230K + veh.
