Job vacancy Senior Estimator/Quantity Surveyor

The Company:

This main contractor has a stable workload for the foreseeable future. They are on the lookout for an Estimator at senior level who has both strong estimation skills and quantity surveying skills but has a level of flexibility to switch between the two as and when required.  Generally, projects are between $10M - $50M and are a broad mix of commercial and government work. They are a family orientated contractor who have experienced Directors with strong long term client relationships and that are well connected to developers and investors.

Typically your duties will involve:

• Estimating and pricing including preparing tenders, reviewing of documents and sending out sub-contractor invitations.
• Preparing cost plans, competitive tenders, design and build
• Liaising with clients and architects
• Variations and sub-contractor negotiations
• Financial reporting & cost monitoring / projections
• Preparation, submission and negotiation of Interim and Final accounts

• A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification
• Estimating and quantity surveying experience working for a commercial Main Contractor, at least 10+ years in NZ
• Experience working on commercial projects over $10M in value
• Able to price competitively and have a strong command of the local construction environment, possess networks and strong sub-contractor knowledge
• You bring passion, motivation and a positive attitude

Salary: $150K - $165K + veh/veh allowance
