wheres the meat??
Have purchased Fishers Corned beef from PaknSav...it has the skin still on one side and just mainly fat which has not been removed. This is the second time this has occurred. I purchased skin and fat with very little actual meat. Disappointed and will not purchase any more Fishers. What has happened to this company, your products used to be of high standard :(

Silverside
I cooked my last piece of Fishers Silverside today, and yest it will be the last.. I have been cooking silverside for 57 years and never been as disappointed as I have been with Fishers Silverside. Today's piece weighed 1.024 kg before it was cooked.. After cooked it weighed 468 gr. I know meat does shrink, but all the silverside from Fishers have lost far more than the normal shrinkage. I think it must be pumping fluid into it.. And it has very little taste not like property corned meat usually tastes. As I said earlier, I will NOT be buying Fishers Silverside again.

We have been supporters of Fisher Meats for years, but the quality of 3 recent Silverside cuts has been abysmal. They have been tough' full of gristle and not well brined. We had one tonight for visitors and were embarrassed by the lack of quality. You have clearly used substandard cuts for brining and the quality of the brine is not good. What really annoys me, is that you do not even have an email contact so so as to contact you.
What are you doing folks......?

Personally I prefer to give "bouquets" to local businesses and support them all the way, however I have now purchased Fishers Corned Beef twice from my local Pak n Save Supermarket, and twice I have been disappointed. There is absolutely NO flavour in the meat at all. I have cooked Corned Beef (supposedly Silverside) for the last 40+ years and have always cooked in the same way. To the cooking water I add a Tablespoon of Golden Syrup, a teaspoon of Mixed Herbs and an Onion studded with Cloves, so I know it has nothing to do with the method. It was tasteless and I felt like I needed to add salt, something I have never done with CB. Does the lack of flavour have anything to do with the method of slaughter (Halal) or have you dropped the quantity of Sodium in which it is pickled. Just give us good old fashioned Non Halal meat. If you are non Halal that is absolutely great, as it is not something I believe should NOT be happening in NZ, just a total moneymaking scam. Thanks
