No recommended for more than 1:1 support.
If you’re missing a lovely aunt or nice nana in your life for a 1:1, this provider may work well for you.
However...this review relates to the skill and ability of the provider to deal with more than 1 individual at a time.
The following items are believed to be a result of the provider working outside of her scope of practice (and resultant incompetence) vs. any intentional act to provide a damaging service. Some ( not all) of the specifics listed below;
- 7 months post initial contact the provider had yet to set an appointment for the family.
- Incompetence for working with >1 caused and created conflict by not communicating openly in timely manner.
- Did not disclose having a prior therapeutic relationship with a member of the group.
- Engaging in side dialogue with the same individual - not maintaining a level playing field.
- Getting commitment and buy-in from the some of the group (+not others) for a proposed plan of intervention...then deciding not to pursue said plan and did not update/communicate this decision to the whole group, causing damage and further conflict.
- Did not demonstrate the knowledge and ability to accommodate the stated needs ( disclosed at the outset) of a vulnerable group member, causing further conflict.
Etc, etc, etc....
Overall : the provider (appearing lost and directionless with difficulties in timeliness, scheduling and transparency) has been the cause of additional, significant damage to the whole group.
Recommendation....BEWARE!! Protect yourself/ yourselves. Before engaging this provider, request an annual practicing certificate and registration, a scope of practice (approved by a professional body) and experience in provision for any service requiring skills for more than 1:1 support. May you never have to go through the fallout out we are left dealing with post involvement with this provider.
