The new coloured retroreflective surface by Resin Surfaces Ltd
Ballatini-Strada is a coloured surfacing that uses coloured glass beads as aggregate. This has been developed by us, and far as we know, is a FIRST IN THE WORLD.
The product has exciting and unique properties. When viewed in most lighting conditions, Ballatini-Strada has a velvety matt appearance, with very rich saturated colour, however when the light comes from behind the viewer, the surface glows with colour, courtesy of the retroreflective properties of the glass beads.
The surface is:
Durable - As for other resin surfacing, 5-10 years under trafficking.
Dirt Resistant - The aggregate being spherical beads, resists soiling and cleans easily
Deep, Rich colour - The beads not being completely opaque, allow a depth to the colouration
Retroreflective - Glows with colour when the light source is behind the observer
Slip resistant - Two lots of testing have been done, Slip coefficient 50-78 (min requirement 40)
Resin surfaces have laid 1,700m2 of this product in Blue, Orange, Green and White on the Eastern Viaduct and Te Wero Island on Auckland's Waterfront. Thanks to Waterfront Auckland, Boffa Miskell and Hawkins Construction.
