Director David Pringle began building boats at the age of 14, building Sabot racing dinghies. He served his apprenticeship with Salthouse Brothers at Greenhithe, internationally known for exceptional boat building standards.David built new custom boats for clients for many years, some projects by himself, others with boat building acquaintances. He could fix anything, with clients coming to him for all kinds of boat building needs. The business slowly grew into David Pringle Boat Builders, his wife Pauline joined the business full time in 2002.The company changed its name to Smuggler Marine Ltd to coincide with the launch of the first new Smuggler Stealth 695 Hard top in 2004.
