Starting from humble beginnings, the Balex system was born out of a problem inventor Lex Bacon noticed in launching and retrieving boats. After multiple trials and a great deal of support from the marine and startup industry, the Balex Automatic Boat Loader 2500 was released in 2014 to an enthusiastic response, receiving several Hutchwilco Boatshow Awards and other recognition. In 2016, two New Zealand entrepreneurs, Dan and Reon, became involved with Balex and helped to improve the supply chain. As avid fishermen and divers, they saw the product's potential and so, in 2017, took over the management of the company. Building on Balex's goal of making boating more accessible for all, the team is committed to creating products to help people spend more time out on the water having fun.
