The Company My client is a very large private family owned Australian business with significant operations in NZ. Having been founded back in 1956, this business is well established and is an enviable position in their industry, seen as a dominant market leading force. The NZ business has size and scale and is now looking for a payroll manager to head up the payroll team, paying circa 700 people.
The Role The Payroll manager will report to the Head of shared services and will be responsible for overseeing the payroll function for the core entity and its associated companies. You will have the following responsibilities: · Manage, develop and lead the payroll function (circa 700 staff), ensuring weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls are managed. · Ensure payroll is process in an accurate and timely manner · Oversee compliance with all statutory reporting and filing requirements · Build and maintain a working relationship with key personnel as required across the business · Ensure all payroll related matters are legislatively kept current · Manage reporting of employee payroll to relevant managers · Interpret any new legislation impacting payroll as required · Ensure payroll systems, upgrades and process improvements are managed optimally · Partner with software providers as required · Other ad hoc duties as required.
Your profile: To be considered for this role, we are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager who remains hands on but can also get across the bigger picture of payroll when required. You will ideally have managed staff previously and be familiar with SAP payroll and payrolls with Time & attendance modules.
This is a down to earth organisation who values people who can relate to the operational teams. We are looking for an individual who wants to take ownership of this area and really make it their own.
